Ngari area is famous for the holy mountain (Mount Kailash), the holy lake (Lake Manasarovar), and the Ruin of Guge Kingdom (Tsaparang). Ngari has a cold desert climate, is one of the most off-the-beaten-track areas in China. For travelers who are interested in visiting the Ngari area, you can take the overland tour from Lhasa, Gyantse (Palcho Monastery), to Shigatse (Tashi Lhunpo Monastery), and Everest Base Camp; after visiting the Shigatse area, an extension tour to the Ngari area (Lake Manasarovar, Mount Kailash, and Tsaparang) can be added.

For luxury travelers, there are no luxury hotels in the Ngari area. Only local 2-3* hotels are available, but with very limited conditions.

The mystery of the sacred mountain is that the snow of the sunny side of the mountain does not melt and is snow-capped all year round; while the shady side of the mountain is snow-free.
