It used to be the last stop before Buddhism entered Chang’an (Now Xi’an) and the first stop of the ancient Silk Road from Chang’an. It is famous for the Buddhist Grottoes, Maijishan Grottoes, Water Curtain Caves, and Daxiangshan Grottoes. For travelers who do not want to go to other places in Gansu Province, we normally recommend our clients take a day tour from Xi’an by High-speed train to visit the city’s highlights.
For luxury travelers, there are no international-brand hotels in this city.
