Overview – Qiong Ku Shi Tai Village
Qiong Ku Shi Tai Village is located in Kaladala Township, Tekes County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, 90 kilometers away from the county seat. It is a pastoral village with more than 300 households and more than 1,700 people. The residents in the village are mainly Kazakhs. The village is surrounded by mountains, and houses are built along the river. The drinking water and domestic water for humans and animals in the village come from the Kurdai River. The valley is wide, and the water flows continuously throughout the year.
Qiong Ku Shi Tai means “big platform” in the Kazakh language. It is a small village on the half slope of Tianshan Mountain. It is the northern entrance of Wusun Ancient Road. Almost all the houses in Qiong Ku Shi Tai Village are wooden buildings. Some houses are built by whole logs, and some houses are divided into two pieces from the middle.
For many years, no travelers knew of its existence until some photographer and explorer posted its pictures on the internet.
